I came across a technique to assist in falling asleep in seconds.  I cannot take credit for this and I wish I could identify the individuals who discovered it, but for me, it works.  It is a very simple techniques that only takes seconds to perform.

1.  With the mouth closed, inhale through the nostrils to a count of four.

2.  Still holding the breath, count to seven.

3.  Open the mouth and exhale to a count of eight.

4.  Repeat four times.

Normally, I do not get to the fourth time.  I start yawning on the third time and lose focus or concentration during the fourth attempt.
